1.1 A bill for an act 1.2 relating to health care; restricting the use of public funds to cover abortions under 1.3 MinnesotaCare; amending Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 256L.03, subdivision 1.4 1. 1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1.6 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 256L.03, subdivision 1, is amended to read: 1.7 Subdivision 1.Covered health services.(a) "Covered health services" means the health 1.8services reimbursed under chapter 256B, with the exception of special education services, 1.9home care nursing services, nonemergency medical transportation services, personal care 1.10assistance and case management services, community first services and supports under 1.11section 256B.85, behavioral health home services under section 256B.0757, housing 1.12stabilization services under section 256B.051, and nursing home or intermediate care facilities 1.13services. 1.14 (b) Public funds must not be used for coverage of abortion under MinnesotaCare except 1.15when the life of the female would be endangered or substantial and irreversible impairment 1.16of a major bodily function would result if the fetus were carried to term, or when the 1.17pregnancy is the result of rape or incest. 1.18 (b) (c) Covered health services shall be expanded as provided in this section. 1.19 (c) (d) For the purposes of covered health services under this section, "child" means an 1.20individual younger than 19 years of age. 1Section 1. 25-04495 as introduced03/06/25 REVISOR AGW/KR SENATE STATE OF MINNESOTA S.F.
