1.1 A bill for an act 1.2 relating to health; modifying provisions governing licensure of firms that perform 1.3 radon detection or mitigation; amending Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 144.4961, 1.4 subdivisions 3, 5. 1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1.6 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 144.4961, subdivision 3, is amended to read: 1.7 Subd. 3.Rulemaking.The commissioner of health shall adopt rules establishing licensure 1.8requirements and work standards relating to indoor radon in dwellings and other buildings, 1.9with the exception of newly constructed Minnesota homes according to section 326B.106, 1.10subdivision 6. The commissioner shall coordinate, oversee, and implement all state functions 1.11in matters concerning the presence, effects, measurement, and mitigation of risks of radon 1.12in dwellings and other buildings. Rules adopted by the commissioner under this subdivision 1.13are effective beginning January 1, 2019. 1.14 Sec. 2.
