88 1.8 Of the revenue collected under Minnesota Statutes, section 297A.9915, and allocated​
99 1.9to the Metropolitan Council for active transportation purposes under Minnesota Statutes,​
1010 1.10section 473.4465, subdivision 2, paragraph (a), clause (1), the Metropolitan Council must​
1111 1.11provide a grant of $15,000,000 in fiscal year 2026 to the Board of Regents of the University​
1212 1.12of Minnesota to be spent in accordance with Minnesota Statutes, section 135A.046. This​
1313 1.13grant is to design and construct the replacement of the pedestrian enclosure and suicide​
1414 1.14deterrent barriers on the Washington Avenue Pedestrian Bridge on the Twin Cities campus.​
1515 1.15The board must consult with persons affected by suicide at this bridge, suicide prevention​
1616 1.16organizations, and experts in the field of suicide prevention in designing the project. This​
1717 1.17section is notwithstanding the provisions of Minnesota Statutes, section 473.4465, subdivision​
