22 1.2 relating to natural resources; modifying and extending an appropriation for​

44 1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:​
55 1.5 Section 1. Laws 2022, chapter 95, article 3, section 6, is amended to read:​
66 1.6 Sec. 6. APPROPRIATIONS; DROUGHT RELIEF.​
77 1.7 (a) $300,000 in fiscal year 2022 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner​
88 1.8of natural resources for costs associated with resolving well interferences confirmed by the​
99 1.9Department of Natural Resources that occurred after April 30, 2021, and before December​
1010 1.1031, 2021. This appropriation is available until June 30, 2026.​
1111 1.11 (b) $5,000,000 in fiscal year 2023 is appropriated from the general fund to the​
1212 1.12commissioner of natural resources to replace drought-killed seedlings on lands managed​
1313 1.13by the Department of Natural Resources and to administer grants to Tribal, county, and​
1414 1.14private forestland owners to replace drought-killed seedlings on their land. Seedling​
1515 1.15replacement includes site prep, replanting, and tending seedlings. Seedlings may be purchased​
1616 1.16from the private market with money appropriated under this paragraph as needed to ensure​
1717 1.17an adequate supply of seedlings for these purposes. This is a onetime appropriation and is​
1818 1.18available until June 30, 2027 2029.​
