1.2 relating to public safety; providing for the payment of the costs of evidentiary
1.3 examinations of victims in cases involving domestic assault by strangulation;
1.4 amending Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 609.2247, by adding a subdivision.
1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.6 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 609.2247, is amended by adding a subdivision
1.7to read:
1.8 Subd. 3.Medical examination; costs.Costs incurred by a county, city, or private hospital
1.9or other emergency medical facility or by a private physician for the examination of a victim
1.10of domestic assault by strangulation when the examination is performed for the purpose of
1.11gathering evidence are subject to the payment and reimbursement provisions in section
1.12609.35.
1.13 EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective July 1, 2025.
