                            1.1	A bill for an act​
1.2 relating to public safety; providing for the payment of the costs of evidentiary​
1.3 examinations of victims in cases involving domestic assault by strangulation;​
1.4 amending Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 609.2247, by adding a subdivision.​
1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:​
1.6 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 609.2247, is amended by adding a subdivision​
1.7to read:​
1.8 Subd. 3.Medical examination; costs.Costs incurred by a county, city, or private hospital​
1.9or other emergency medical facility or by a private physician for the examination of a victim​
1.10of domestic assault by strangulation when the examination is performed for the purpose of​
1.11gathering evidence are subject to the payment and reimbursement provisions in section​
1.12609.35.​
1.13 EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective July 1, 2025.​
