| 4 | 4 | | 1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: |

| 5 | 5 | | 1.5 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 152.01, subdivision 12a, is amended to read: |

| 6 | 6 | | 1.6 Subd. 12a.Park zone."Park zone" means an area designated as a public park by the |

| 7 | 7 | | 1.7federal government, the state, a local unit of government, a park district board, a park and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | 1.8recreation board in a city of the first class, or a federally recognized Indian Tribe. "Park |

| 9 | 9 | | 1.9zone" includes the area within 300 100 feet or one city block, whichever distance is greater, |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | 1.10of the park boundary. |

| 11 | 11 | | 1.11 Sec. 2. Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 152.01, subdivision 14a, is amended to read: |

| 13 | 13 | | 1.13 (1) any property owned, leased, or controlled by a school district or an organization |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | 1.14operating a nonpublic school, as defined in section 123B.41, subdivision 9, where an |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | 1.15elementary, middle, secondary school, secondary vocational center or other school providing |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | 1.16educational services in grade one through grade 12 is located, or used for educational |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | 1.17purposes, or where extracurricular or cocurricular activities are regularly provided; |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | 1.18 (2) the area surrounding school property as described in clause (1) to a distance of 300 |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | 1.19100 feet or one city block, whichever distance is greater, beyond the school property; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | 1.20 (3) the area within a school bus when that bus is being used to transport one or more |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | 1.21elementary or secondary school students. |
