1.2 relating to human services; appropriating money for a health awareness hub pilot
1.3 project.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. APPROPRIATION; HEALTH AWARENESS HUB PILOT PROJECT.
1.6 $500,000 in fiscal year 2026 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
1.7of human services for a payment to the Organization for Liberians in Minnesota for a health
1.8awareness hub pilot project. The pilot project must seek to address health care education
1.9and the physical and mental wellness needs of elderly individuals within the African
1.10immigrant community by offering culturally relevant support, resources, and preventive
1.11care education from medical practitioners who have a similar background and by making
1.12appropriate referrals to culturally competent programs, supports, and medical care. Within
1.13six months of the conclusion of the pilot project, the Organization for Liberians in Minnesota
1.14must provide the commissioner with an evaluation of the project as determined by the
1.15commissioner. This is a onetime appropriation.
