                            1.1	A bill for an act​
1.2 relating to education; requiring the Minnesota State High School League to sanction​
1.3 cricket.​
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:​
1.5 Section 1. MINNESOTA STATE HIGH SCHOOL LEAGUE TO SANCTION​
1.6CRICKET.​
1.7 Subdivision 1.Sanctioned activity.The Minnesota State High School League must add​
1.8cricket to the list of interscholastic athletic activities under its jurisdiction in accordance​
1.9with the implementation deadlines under subdivision 2. The league governing board must​
1.10amend the league bylaws to select an appropriate season for cricket and make other necessary​
1.11determinations regarding participation. To the extent practicable, the league must establish​
1.12a spring season for cricket.​
1.13 Subd. 2.Implementation.The league must establish a cricket advisory group and​
1.14introduce pilot programs in at least three schools during the 2025-2026 school year. During​
1.15the 2026-2027 school year, the league must expand participation to additional schools and​
1.16finalize rules relating to cricket competitions. The league must complete all activities or​
1.17changes necessary to implement a regular cricket season as a league-sanctioned activity​
1.18prior to the 2027-2028 school year.​
1.19 EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective July 1, 2025.​
