                            1.1	A bill for an act​
1.2 relating to employment; requiring payment of wages for employees of staffing​
1.3 services for canceled assignments; amending Minnesota Statutes 2024, section​
1.4 181.03, by adding a subdivision.​
1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:​
1.6 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 181.03, is amended by adding a subdivision​
1.7to read:​
1.8 Subd. 1a.Wages to employees of staffing services.A staffing service must pay wages​
1.9to an employee of the staffing service, regardless of whether an assignment is ultimately​
1.10completed for a shift or day, if the employee has reasonably relied on placement at an​
1.11assignment by the staffing service for the shift or day and the staffing service canceled the​
1.12assignment. For purposes of this subdivision, "staffing service" has the meaning given in​
1.13section 268.035, subdivision 21d.​
1.14 EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective the day following final enactment.​
