                            1.1	A bill for an act​
1.2 relating to capital investment; modifying an appropriation for the Heartland State​
1.3 Trail; amending Laws 2023, chapter 72, article 1, section 7, subdivision 18.​
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:​
1.5 Section 1. Laws 2023, chapter 72, article 1, section 7, subdivision 18, is amended to read:​
2,950,000​1.6Subd. 18.Heartland State Trail​
1.7(a) For capital improvements to the Heartland​
1.8State Trail. Of this amount, (1) $550,000 is​
1.9for construction of a trail segment of the​
1.10Heartland State Trail between Detroit Lakes​
1.11and Frazee; and (2) $2,400,000 is for the​
1.12environmental review, predesign, design, and​
1.13construction of a paved multiple-use trail to​
1.14connect Itasca State Park to the Heartland​
1.15State Trail beginning from the park contact​
1.16station to the park's southeast boundary and​
1.17through a Phase 1 tunnel to be constructed​
1.18under marked U.S. Highway 71, and​
1.19continuing from there for about two miles.​
1.20(b) This appropriation is in addition to the​
1.21appropriations in Laws 2017, First Special​
1.22Session chapter 8, article 1, section 6,​
1.23subdivision 6, and Laws 2020, Fifth Special​
1​Section 1.​
