1.1 A bill for an act
1.2 relating to claims against the state; providing for the settlement of certain claims;
1.3 appropriating money.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS; APPROPRIATIONS.
1.6 The amounts in this section are appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
1.7of corrections in fiscal year 2026 for full and final payment under Minnesota Statutes,
1.8sections 3.738 and 3.739, of claims against the state for losses suffered while incarcerated
1.9in a state correctional facility or for injuries suffered by and medical services provided to
1.10persons injured while performing community service or sentence-to-service work for
1.11correctional purposes or while incarcerated in a state correctional facility. This appropriation
1.12is available until June 30, 2026:
1.13 (1) for community service and sentence-to-service work claims under $7,000 and other
1.14claims already paid by the department, $849.86; and
1.15 (2) for payment to ....... for permanent injuries ........
