1.1 A bill for an act
1.2 relating to capital investment; appropriating money for a new regional training
1.3 and public safety facility for the Lakes Area Police Commission; authorizing the
1.4 sale and issuance of state bonds.
1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.6 Section 1. LAKES AREA POLICE COMMISSION; NEW LAW ENFORCEMENT
1.7CENTER.
1.8 Subdivision 1.Appropriation.$4,000,000 is appropriated from the bond proceeds fund
1.9to the commissioner of public safety for a grant to the Lakes Area Police Commission to
1.10predesign, design, construct, furnish, and equip a new regional training and public safety
1.11facility for the Lakes Area Police Commission, a joint powers law enforcement agency
1.12created pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, section 471.59, to serve the cities of Lindstrom and
1.13Chisago City, and the surrounding area. This appropriation is not available until the
1.14commissioner of management and budget determines that $4,000,000 has been committed
1.15to complete the project from nonstate sources.
1.16 Subd. 2.Bond sale.To provide the money appropriated in this section from the bond
1.17proceeds fund, the commissioner of management and budget shall sell and issue bonds of
1.18the state in an amount up to $4,000,000 in the manner, upon the terms, and with the effect
1.19prescribed by Minnesota Statutes, sections 16A.631 to 16A.675, and by the Minnesota
1.20Constitution, article XI, sections 4 to 7.
1.21 EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective the day following final enactment.
