1.1 A bill for an act 1.2 relating to legacy; appropriating money to clean and reestablish earthen dams in 1.3 certain counties; requiring reports. 1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1.5 Section 1. APPROPRIATION; CLEAN OUT AND REESTABLISH EARTHEN 1.6DAMS. 1.7 (a) $1,250,000 in fiscal year 2026 is appropriated from the clean water fund to the Board 1.8of Water and Soil Resources for grants in equal amounts to Fillmore, Goodhue, Houston, 1.9Wabasha, and Winona Counties to clean out and reestablish upslope earthen dams and 1.10associated earthen flood protection storage structures. 1.11 (b) By October 1, 2026, a county that receives a grant under this section must report to 1.12the chairs and ranking minority members of the legislative committees with jurisdiction 1.13over environment and natural resources on the use of the grant. 1.14 (c) No portion of the appropriation in this section may be retained by the Board of Water 1.15and Soil Resources or a county to pay for administrative costs. 1Section 1. 25-02096 as introduced01/13/25 REVISOR CKM/ES SENATE STATE OF MINNESOTA S.F.
