| 7 | 7 | | 1.7 Subdivision 1.Duty to report.A person who steals a firearm shall report the theft to a |

| 8 | 8 | | 1.8law enforcement agency in the jurisdiction in which the theft occurred as soon as practicable |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | 1.9but not later than within 48 hours of the theft. |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | 1.10 Subd. 2.Penalty.(a) A person who violates this section is guilty of a petty misdemeanor. |

| 11 | 11 | | 1.11 (b) A person who violates this section a second time is guilty of a misdemeanor. |
