44 1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:​
55 1.5 Section 1. DIRECT ASSISTANCE TO CRIME VICTIM SURVIVORS;​
66 1.6APPROPRIATION.​
77 1.7 $....... in fiscal year 2026 and $....... in fiscal year 2027 are appropriated from the general​
88 1.8fund to the commissioner of public safety for the Office of Justice Programs to provide​
99 1.9grants to organizations that received a grant from the crime victim services unit in fiscal​
1010 1.10year 2024. Grants must be used for direct services and advocacy for victims of sexual assault,​
1111 1.11general crime, domestic violence, and child abuse. Funding must support the direct needs​
1212 1.12of organizations serving victims of crime by providing: direct client assistance to crime​
1313 1.13victims; competitive wages for direct service staff; hotel stays and other housing-related​
1414 1.14supports and services; culturally responsive programming; prevention programming,​
1515 1.15including domestic abuse transformation and restorative justice programming; and for other​
1616 1.16needs of organizations and crime victim survivors. Services funded must include services​
1717 1.17for victims of crime in underserved communities most impacted by violence and reflect the​
1818 1.18ethnic, racial, economic, cultural, and geographic diversity of the state. Up to ten percent​
1919 1.19of the appropriation is available for grant administration.​
