55 1.5 Section 1. APPROPRIATION; SOIL HEALTH FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE​
66 1.6PROGRAM.​
77 1.7 $....... in fiscal year 2026 and $....... in fiscal year 2027 are appropriated from the general​
88 1.8fund to the commissioner of agriculture for the soil health financial assistance program​
99 1.9under Minnesota Statutes, section 17.134. The commissioner may award no more than​
1010 1.10$50,000 of the appropriation each year to a single recipient. The commissioner may use up​
1111 1.11to 6.5 percent of this appropriation for costs incurred to administer the program.​
1212 1.12Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, section 16A.28, any unencumbered balance at the end​
1313 1.13of fiscal year 2026 does not cancel and is available in fiscal year 2027. Appropriations​
1414 1.14encumbered under contract on or before June 30, 2027, for soil health financial assistance​
1515 1.15grants are available until June 30, 2029.​
