1.2 relating to workforce development; appropriating money for a grant to the Latino
1.3 Economic Development Center.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. APPROPRIATION.
1.6 $2,000,000 in fiscal year 2026 and $2,000,000 in fiscal year 2027 are appropriated from
1.7the workforce development fund to the commissioner of employment and economic
1.8development for a grant to the Latino Economic Development Center (LEDC). Grant
1.9proceeds may be used to assist, support, finance, and launch microentrepreneurs by delivering
1.10training, workshops, and one-on-one consultations to businesses as well as capacity building
1.11and general operations. Proceeds may also be used to assist prospective entrepreneurs in
1.12the start-up process by introducing prospective entrepreneurs to key business concepts,
1.13including business start-up readiness and innovating career pathways into trades, green
1.14lending, technology, coding, STEM careers, translation services, and manufacturing.
