                            1.1	A bill for an act​
1.2 relating to human services; establishing a disability inclusion pilot project;​
1.3 appropriating money.​
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:​
1.5 Section 1. APPROPRIATION; DISABILITY INCLUSION PILOT PROJECT.​
1.6 (a) $4,000,000 in fiscal year 2025 is appropriated from the general fund to the​
1.7commissioner of human services for a payment to Lifeworks Services, Inc., for a statewide​
1.8disability inclusion pilot project. The pilot project must:​
1.9 (1) persuade employers to diversify their workforces by hiring people with disabilities;​
1.10 (2) educate businesses on the economic benefits of inclusive employment and provide​
1.11coaching on affordable accommodations;​
1.12 (3) educate Minnesotans with disabilities and their families on navigating services and​
1.13achieving inclusion in both work and community settings;​
1.14 (4) build capacity and support for culturally specific services by rural, Black, Indigenous,​
1.15or People of Color entrepreneurs;​
1.16 (5) pilot community-requested support services;​
1.17 (6) invest in safe community-focused spaces to host trainings and requested support​
1.18services; and​
1.19 (7) launch a statewide disability inclusion assessment for businesses and community​
1.20spaces to improve accessibility and inclusion.​
