1.1 A bill for an act 1.2 relating to liquor; modifying certain license restrictions; amending Minnesota 1.3 Statutes 2024, section 340A.22, subdivision 2. 1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1.5 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 340A.22, subdivision 2, is amended to read: 1.6 Subd. 2.Cocktail room license.(a) A municipality, including a city with a municipal 1.7liquor store, may issue the holder of a microdistillery license or distilled spirits manufacturer 1.8license under this chapter a microdistillery or distilled spirits manufacturer cocktail room 1.9license. A microdistillery or distilled spirits manufacturer cocktail room license authorizes 1.10on-sale of distilled liquor produced by the distiller for consumption on the premises of or 1.11adjacent to one distillery location owned by the distiller. Notwithstanding section 340A.504, 1.12subdivision 3, a cocktail room may be open and may conduct on-sale business on Sundays 1.13if authorized by the municipality. Nothing in this subdivision precludes the holder of a 1.14microdistillery or distilled spirits manufacturer cocktail room license from also holding a 1.15license to operate a restaurant at the distillery. Section 340A.409 shall apply to a license 1.16issued under this subdivision. All provisions of this chapter that apply to a retail liquor 1.17license shall apply to a license issued under this subdivision unless the provision is explicitly 1.18inconsistent with this subdivision. 1.19 (b) A distiller may only have one cocktail room license under this subdivision. 1.20 (c) The municipality shall impose a licensing fee on a distiller holding a microdistillery 1.21or distilled spirits manufacturer cocktail room license under this subdivision, subject to 1.22limitations applicable to license fees under section 340A.408, subdivision 2, paragraph (a). 1Section 1. 25-02522 as introduced01/22/25 REVISOR JSK/EN SENATE STATE OF MINNESOTA S.F.
