RelatingtoapprovaloftheStateWaterResourcesPlan.
BeitenactedbytheGeneralAssemblyofthestateofMissouri,asfollows:
WHEREAS,Missouri'sthousandsofmilesofrivers,streams,andlakes,alongwith
2undergroundaquifers,supplyourstate'ssixmillionresidentswithcriticalwaterresources;
3and

5 WHEREAS,thewaterresourcesofthestateofMissouriareessentialtothewell-
6beingofitspeople,agriculture,industry,economy,andenvironment;and
7
8 WHEREAS,anunderstandingofthewaterresourcesofMissouriandplanningfor
9theirdevelopmentanduseareessentialtosecuringtheirbenefits;and
10
11 WHEREAS,waterplanningisnecessarytoidentifywatersupplyneeds,planfor
12futureshortfallsinwatersupply,preparefordroughtconditions,andproperlyimplement
13strategiesforresiliency;and
14
15 WHEREAS,thedepartmentofnaturalresourceshasgatheredinputfromcitizensand
16stakeholderstohelpidentifywaterresourcepriorities,coordinatedwiththeinteragencytask
17forceadvisorygroup,andconvenedfivetechnicalworkgroupstoguidedevelopmentofthe
18waterplancontent;and

20 WHEREAS,thedepartmentofnaturalresourceshascompletedanupdateofthe
21Missouriwaterresourcesplanundersection640.415,whichrequiresthedepartmentto 22develop,maintain,andperiodicallyupdatethestatewaterresourcesplanandsubmittheplan
23tothegeneralassemblyforapproval:

25 NOWTHEREFORE BEITRESOLVEDthatthemembersoftheHouseof
26RepresentativesoftheOneHundredFirstGeneralAssembly,SecondRegularSession,the
27Senateconcurringtherein,herebyapprovethestatewaterresourcesplanandtheplan's
28implementation;and

30 BEITFURTHERRESOLVEDthattheChiefClerkoftheHouseofRepresentatives
31beinstructedtoprepareaproperlyinscribedcopyofthisresolutionforthedirectorofthe
32departmentofnaturalresources.
