Torepealsection320.210,RSMo,andtoenactinlieuthereofonenewsectionrelatingto
qualificationsoffireprotectionemployees.
BeitenactedbytheGeneralAssemblyofthestateofMissouri,asfollows:
SectionA.Section320.210,RSMo,isrepealedandonenewsectionenactedinlieu
2thereof,tobeknownassection320.210,toreadasfollows:
320.210.Thestatefiremarshalshallappointoneassistantdirectorandsuchother
2investigatorsandemployeesastheneedsoftheofficerequirewithinthelimitsofthe
3appropriationmadeforsuchpurpose.[Supervisinginvestigatorsshallbeatleasttwenty-five
4yearsofageandshallhaveeitheraminimumoffiveyears'experienceinfireriskinspection,
5prevention,orinvestigationwork,oradegreeinfireprotectionengineeringfroma
6recognizedcollegeoruniversityofengineering.] Nopersonshallbeappointedasan
7investigatororotheremployeewhohasbeenconvictedofafelonyorothercrimeinvolving
8moralturpitude.Anypersonappointedasaninvestigatorshallbeofgoodcharacter,shallbe
9acitizenoftheUnitedStates,[shallhavebeenataxpayingresidentofthisstateforatleast
10threeyearsimmediatelyprecedinghisappointment,and]shallbeagraduateofanaccredited
11four-yearhighschoolor,inlieuthereof,shallhaveobtainedacertificateofequivalencyfrom
12thestatedepartmentofelementaryandsecondaryeducation,andshall[possessordinary
13physicalstrengthandbeabletopasssuchphysicalandmentalexaminationsasthestatefire
14marshalmayprescribe] bearesidentofMissouriatthetimeofappointment. An
15investigatororemployeeshallnotholdanyothercommissionoroffice,electiveor
16appointive,oracceptanyotheremploymentthatwouldposeaconflictofinterestwhilehe
17orsheisaninvestigatororemployee.Aninvestigatororemployeeshallnotacceptany
