subdivisionfromimposingorenforcingamoratoriumoneviction
proceedingsunlessspecificallyauthorizedbystatelaw.

rightsandagainstcontractagreementsenteredintobetweenthe

TheU.S.SupremeCourtruledthatCDCexceededitsauthority.Fifty
percentoftherentalsareownedbymomandpopoperationswho
experiencedifficultyinnotcollectingrent.Onlyafractionof
themoneysthatwereallocatedtolandlordsweredisbursedbythe
FederalGovernment. Severalstatesenactedtheirowneviction
moratoriums. Thereshouldnotbeapiecemealapproachatthelocal
levelandtheopportunityfordecisionmakingshouldbeatthe
statelevel.

OPPONENTS: Thosewhoopposethebillsaythattheeviction

difficultsituationforlowincomeMissouritenanthouseholdsand
theevictionmoratoriumshelpedkeepfamiliestogetherandreduced
thenegativeimpactonthelifeandhealthoftheworkforceand
economy.
