8 | 8 | | To amend chapter 324, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to dietitians. |

10 | 10 | | Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Missouri, as follows: |
---|
11 | 11 | | Section A. Chapter 324, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto 1 |
---|
12 | 12 | | one new section, to be known as section 324.218, to read as 2 |
---|
13 | 13 | | follows:3 |
---|
14 | 14 | | 324.218. 1. An applicant who has not previously taken 1 |
---|
15 | 15 | | or passed an examination recognized by the committee and who 2 |
---|
16 | 16 | | meets the qualifications of subsection 2 of section 324.210 3 |
---|
17 | 17 | | may obtain without examination a nonrenewable temporary 4 |
---|
18 | 18 | | license by paying a temporary license fee and submitting to 5 |
---|
19 | 19 | | the committee an agreement -to-supervise form that is signed 6 |
---|
20 | 20 | | by a licensed dietitian who has agreed to supervise the 7 |
---|
21 | 21 | | applicant. Such temporary licensee m ay practice dietetics, 8 |
---|
22 | 22 | | but any such practice shall be under the supervision of a 9 |
---|
23 | 23 | | dietitian licensed in this state. 10 |
---|
24 | 24 | | 2. (1) Any dietitian who has agreed to supervise a 11 |
---|
25 | 25 | | temporary licensee shall hold an unencumbered license to 12 |
---|
26 | 26 | | practice dietetics in this state and shall provide the 13 |
---|
27 | 27 | | committee proof of active dietetics practice in this state 14 |
---|
28 | 28 | | for a minimum of one year before supervising the temporary 15 |
---|
29 | 29 | | licensee. 16 |
---|
30 | 30 | | (2) The supervising dietitian shall not be an 17 |
---|
31 | 31 | | immediate family member of the temporar y licensee. The 18 |
---|
32 | 32 | | committee shall define the term "immediate family member" 19 SB 1053 2 |
---|
33 | 33 | | for purposes of this subdivision and the scope of such 20 |
---|
34 | 34 | | supervision by rule. 21 |
---|
35 | 35 | | 3. (1) The dietitian who has agreed to supervise the 22 |
---|
36 | 36 | | applicant for a temporary license shall s ubmit to the 23 |
---|
37 | 37 | | committee a signed notarized form prescribed by the 24 |
---|
38 | 38 | | committee attesting that the applicant for a temporary 25 |
---|
39 | 39 | | license shall begin employment at a location in this state 26 |
---|
40 | 40 | | within seven days of issuance of the temporary license. 27 |
---|
41 | 41 | | (2) If the temporary licensee's employment described 28 |
---|
42 | 42 | | in subdivision (1) of this subsection ceases, the 29 |
---|
43 | 43 | | supervising dietitian shall notify the committee within 30 |
---|
44 | 44 | | three days of such cessation. 31 |
---|
45 | 45 | | 4. A licensed dietitian shall not supervise more than 32 |
---|
46 | 46 | | one temporary licensee at a time. 33 |
---|
47 | 47 | | 5. The temporary license obtained by an applicant 34 |
---|
48 | 48 | | under this section shall expire the date the committee is 35 |
---|
49 | 49 | | notified by the supervising dietitian that the temporary 36 |
---|
50 | 50 | | licensee's employment has ceased or within one hundred 37 |
---|
51 | 51 | | eighty days of its issuance, whichever occurs first. 38 |
