securityofficers,withanemergencyclause.
BeitenactedbytheGeneralAssemblyofthestateofMissouri,asfollows:
SectionA.Chapter21,RSMo,isamendedbyaddingtheretoonenewsection,tobe
2knownassection21.158,toreadasfollows:
21.158.Thegeneralassembly,thehouse,orthesenatemayemploylegislative
2securityofficersofthehouseorsenatewhomaycarryfirearmswhennecessaryforthe
3properdischargeoftheirduties.Suchlegislativesecurityofficers,whoshallbelicensed
4peaceofficersunderthepeaceofficerstandardsandtrainingprogram(POST),shall
5haveallpowersgrantedtolawenforcementofficersinthisstatethatarenecessaryto
6ensurethepropersecurityandfunctioningofthegeneralassembly,includingthepower
7toapprehendandarrestpersons.
SectionB.Becauseimmediateactionisnecessarytoensuresafetywithinthecapitol
2buildingduringthecurrentlegislativesessionandthereafter,sectionAofthisactisdeemed
3necessaryfortheimmediatepreservationofthepublichealth,welfare,peace,andsafety,and
4isherebydeclaredtobeanemergencyactwithinthemeaningoftheconstitution,andsection
5Aofthisactshallbeinfullforceandeffectuponitspassageandapproval.
