BeitenactedbytheGeneralAssemblyofthestateofMissouri,asfollows:
SectionA.Section161.412,RSMo,isrepealedandonenewsectionenactedinlieu
2thereof,tobeknownassection161.412,toreadasfollows:
161.412.1.Subjecttoappropriations,theMissouricommissionforthedeafandhard
2ofhearingshallprovidegrantsto:
3 (1)Organizationsthatprovideservicesfordeaf-blindchildrenandtheirfamilies.
4Suchservicesmayincludeprovidingfamilysupportadvocatestoassistdeaf-blindchildrenin
5participatingintheircommunitiesandfamilyeducationspecialiststoteachparentsand
6siblingsskillstosupportthedeaf-blindchildrenintheirfamily;
7 (2)Organizationsthatprovideservicesfordeaf-blindadults.Suchgrantsshallbe
8usedtoprovideassistancetodeaf-blindadultswhoareworkingtowardsestablishingand
9maintainingindependence;and
10 (3)Organizationsthattrainsupportserviceproviders.Suchgrantsshallbeusedto
11providetrainingthatwillleadtocertificationofsupportserviceprovidersinMissouri.
12 2.Thecommissionshallusearequest-for-proposalprocesstoawardthegrantsinthis
13section.Organizationsthatreceivegrantsunderthissectionmayexpendthegrantforany
14purposeauthorizedinthissection.[Thetotalamountofgrantsprovidedunderthissection
15shallnotexceedthreehundredthousanddollarsannually.]
