2727 16 (1)Thestudent'sparentgiveswrittenconsentforthestudenttoattendthe
2828 17releasedtimecourse;
2929 EXPLANATION—Matterenclosedinbold-facedbrackets[thus] intheabovebillisnotenactedandis
3030 intendedtobeomittedfromthelaw.Matterinbold-facetypeintheabovebillisproposedlanguage. 18 (2)Theentitysponsoringthereleasedtimecoursemaintainsattendancerecords

4747 35 6.Noprovisionofthissectionshallbeconstruedtodenyareleasedtimecourse
4848 36orthesponsoringentityequalaccesstomoneys,benefits,orservicesthattheschool
4949 37districtprovidesormakesavailabletocommunitygroupsorotherindependententities.
5050 38 7.(1)Aschooldistrictshalladoptapolicythatawardsacademiccreditforthe
5151 39completionofareleasedtimecourseandrecognizesthecreditsofanindependently
5252 40accreditedproviderofreleasedtimecourses.
5353 41 (2)Indetermininghowmuchcredittoawardforcompletionofsuchacourse,
5454 42theschooldistrictshallevaluatethecoursebasedonpurelysecularcriteriathatare
5555 43substantiallythesamecriteriausedtoevaluatesimilarcoursesforpurposesof
5656 44determininghowmuchcredittoawardforsuchcourse.Thedecisiontoawardcredit
5757 45forareleasedtimecourseshallbeneutralto,andshallnotinvolveanytestfor,religious
5858 46contentordenominationalaffiliation.
