Thisbillmodifiestheappointmentofteacherrepresentatives to
theStateBoardofEducationbyprovidingthat,forthesecondand
succeedingappointments,theteacherrepresentative mustnotbe
appointedfromthesamecongressionaldistrictastheimmediately
precedingteacherrepresentative, ratherthanrequiringall
appointmentstobemadeinrotationfromeachcongressional
district.
Thebillrepealsarequirementthat,ifavacancyoccursduringan
unexpiredterm,theGovernorappointareplacementfromthesame
congressionaldistrictastheteacherrepresentative being
replaced,aswellasrepealingaprovisionrequiringtheGovernor
tomakeatemporaryappointmentiftheGeneralAssemblyisnotin
session.
Finally,thebillchangestheexpirationdateoftheseprovisions
fromAugust28,2025toAugust28,2031.
