4444 32 (3)Howhealthdisclosuresonaleaseapplicationshallbehonored;
4545 33 (4)Informationregardingleasemodificationsorbreakinganexistingleasein
4646 34casesinwhichtherenterhasachangeinacademicstatuswithintheinstitutionofhigher
4747 35educationincluding,butnotlimitedto:
4848 36 (a)Transferringtoanotherinstitutionofhighereducationnotwithinproximity
4949 37tothepurpose-builtstudenthousing;
5050 38 (b)Withdrawingfromtheinstitutionofhighereducation;
5151 39 (c)Beingremovedfromtheinstitutionofhighereducation;or
5252 40 (d)Relocatingtoanotherstatebecauseofa:
5353 41 a.Catastrophicillnessoraccidentofafamilymemberoftherenter;
5454 42 b.Deathinthefamily;or
5555 43 c.Familyemergencyorotherlife-changingeventthatrequirestherenterto
5656 44withdrawfromtheinstitutionofhighereducation;
5757 45 (5)Informationastowhethertransferringaleaseorsubleasingispermitted;
5858 46 (6)Leaserenewaloptions,includingaright-of-first-refusalclausethatincludesa
5959 47timelinenoearlierthanthesemesterpriortowhentheleaseisduetoexpire;and

6161 49housingisprovidingtorentersofsuchhousing.Ifthelandlordfailstoprovideanyof

6363 51manner,thelandlordshallbedeemedguiltyofforcibleentryanddetainerasdescribed
6464 52inchapter534;providedhowever,thissubdivisionshallnotbeapplicableifthelandlord
6565 53takessuchactionforhealthorsafetyreasons.
6666 HB1564 2 54 4.Inconjunctionwiththeattorneygeneral,thedepartmentofhighereducation
6767 55andworkforcedevelopmentshallcreateaflyerthatlandlordsofpurpose-builtstudent
6868 56housingshallprovidetorentersofsuchhousingthatshallinclude,ataminimum,the
6969 57leaserequirementsprovidedundersubsection3ofthissection.
