4sectionenactedinlieuthereof,tobeknownassection57.317,toreadasfollows:
[57.317.1.(1)Exceptinanonchartercountyofthefirstclassification
2 withmorethanonehundredfiftythousandandlessthantwohundredthousand
3 inhabitants,thecountysheriffinanycountyofthefirstorsecondclassification
4 shallreceiveanannualsalaryequaltoeightypercentofthecompensationof
5 anassociatecircuitjudgeofthecounty.
6 (2)Thecountysheriffinanycountyofthethirdorfourth
7 classificationshallreceiveanannualsalarycomputedasthefollowing
8 percentagesofthecompensationofanassociatecircuitjudgeofthecounty.If
9 thereisanincreaseinsalaryoflessthantenthousanddollars,theincrease
10 shalltakeeffectonJanuary1,2022.Ifthereisanincreaseoftenthousand
11 dollarsormore,theincreaseshallbepaidoveraperiodoffiveyearsintwenty
12 percentincrementsperyear.Theassessedvaluationfactorshallbetheamount
13 thereofasshownfortheyearnextprecedingthecomputation.Theprovisions
14 ofthissectionshallnotpermitorrequireareductionintheamountof
15 compensationbeingpaidfortheofficeofsherifffromtheprioryear.
16	AssessedValuation Percentage

25 sheriff'sofficewhenapprovedbyaprofessionalassociationofthecounty
26 sheriffsofMissouriunlessexemptedfromthetrainingbytheprofessional
27 association.Theprofessionalassociationapprovingtheprogramshallprovide
28 acertificateofcompletiontoeachsheriffwhocompletesthetrainingprogram
29 andshallsendalistofcertifiedsheriffstothetreasurerofeachcounty.
30 Expensesincurredforattendingthetrainingsessionmaybereimbursedtothe
31 countysheriffinthesamemannerasotherexpensesasmaybeappropriated
32 forthatpurpose.
33 3.Thecountysheriffinanycountyotherthanachartercountyshall
34 notreceiveanannualcompensationlessthanthecompensationdescribed
35 underthissection.]
57.317.1.(1)Thecountysheriffinanycountyofthefirstorsecondclassification
2shallreceiveanannualsalaryequaltoeightypercentofthecompensationofanassociate
3circuitjudgeofthecounty.
4 (2)Thecountysheriffinanycountyofthethirdorfourthclassificationshallreceive
5anannualsalarycomputedasthefollowingpercentagesofthecompensationofanassociate
6circuitjudgeofthecounty.Ifthereisanincreaseinsalaryoflessthantenthousanddollars,
7theincreaseshalltakeeffectonJanuary1,2022.Ifthereisanincreaseoftenthousand
8dollarsormore,theincreaseshallbepaidoveraperiodoffiveyearsintwentypercent
9incrementsperyear.Theassessedvaluationfactorshallbetheamountthereofasshownfor
10theyearnextprecedingthecomputation.Theprovisionsofthissectionshallnotpermitor
11requireareductionintheamountofcompensationbeingpaidfortheofficeofsherifffromthe
12prioryear.

22associationofthecountysheriffsofMissouriunlessexemptedfromthetrainingbythe
23professionalassociation.Theprofessionalassociationapprovingtheprogramshallprovidea
24certificateofcompletiontoeachsheriffwhocompletesthetrainingprogramandshallsenda
25listofcertifiedsheriffstothetreasurerofeachcounty.Expensesincurredforattendingthe
26trainingsessionmaybereimbursedtothecountysheriffinthesamemannerasother
27expensesasmaybeappropriatedforthatpurpose.
28 3.Thecountysheriffinanycountyotherthanachartercountyshallnotreceivean
29annualcompensationlessthanthecompensationdescribedunderthissection.
30 4.Thestateshallreimburse,throughanappropriation,atleastthirtypercentof
31thesalaryofthecountysheriffineachcountyofthethirdclassificationascomputed
32underthissection.
