5presidentprotemporeofthesenateandonemembertobeappointedbytheminority

7 (b)Twomembersofthehouseofrepresentatives,withonemembertobe
8appointedbythespeakerofthehouseofrepresentativesandonemembertobe
9appointedbytheminorityfloorleader;
10 (2)Thedirectorofthedepartmentofpublicsafetyorhisorherdesignee;
11 (3)Tworepresentativesappointedbythedirectorofthedepartmentofpublic
12safetyfromamongthefollowing:

34 2.Thetaskforceshallappointachairwhoiselectedbyamajorityvoteofthe
35membersofthetaskforce.ThetaskforceshallhaveaninitialmeetingbeforeOctober
361,2025.Themembersofthetaskforceshallservewithoutcompensationbutshallbe
37entitledtonecessaryandactualexpensesincurredinattendingmeetingsofthetask
38force.
39 3.Thetaskforceshallexamineandreportonthefollowing:
40 (1)Thesystemiccausesbehindviolencethatwomenandgirlsexperience,
41includingpatternsandunderlyingfactorsthatexplainwhydisproportionatelyhigh
42levelsofviolenceoccuragainstwomenandgirls,includingunderlyinghistorical,social,
43economic,institutional,andculturalfactorsthatmaycontributetotheviolence;
44 (2)Appropriatemethodsfortrackingandcollectingdataonviolenceagainst
45womenandgirls,includingdataonmissingandmurderedwomenandgirls;
46 (3)Policiesandinstitutionssuchaspolicing,childwelfare,coronerpractices,
47andothergovernmentalpracticesthatimpactviolenceagainstwomenandgirls,andthe
48investigationandprosecutionofcrimesofgenderviolenceagainstwomenandgirls;
49 (4)Measuresnecessarytoaddressandreduceviolenceagainstwomenandgirls;
50and
51 (5)Measurestohelpvictims,victims'families,andvictims'communitiesprevent
52andhealfromviolencethatoccursagainstwomenandgirls.
53 4.Thedepartmentofpublicsafetyshallprovideadministrativesupporttothe
54taskforce.
HB485 2 55 5.OnorbeforeDecemberthirty-firstofeachyear,thetaskforceshallsubmita
56reportonitsfindingstothegovernorandthegeneralassembly.
57 6.ThetaskforceshallexpireonDecember31,2027,unlessextendeduntil
58December31,2029,asdeterminednecessarybythedepartmentofpublicsafety.
