Uponvoterapproval,beginningwiththe2030decennialcensus,this
resolutionchangesthenumberofmembersintheMissouriHouseof
Representatives from163to103.
Currently,nomemberoftheGeneralAssemblymayservemorethan
eightyearstotalinanyonehouseoftheGeneralAssembly,nor
morethan16yearstotalinbothhousesoftheGeneralAssembly.
Uponvoterapproval,thisconstitutional amendmentremovesthe
prohibitiononamemberservingmorethaneightyearstotalinany
onehouseoftheGeneralAssembly,beginningJanuary1,2032.
AlsobeginningJanuary1,2032,thisconstitutional amendmentwould
prohibitanymemberoftheHouseofRepresentatives fromservingas
SpeakerorSpeakerProTemoftheHouseformorethanthree
consecutiveterms,andanymemberoftheSenatefromservingas
PresidentProTemoftheSenateformorethantwoconsecutive
terms.
