2WhiteRiverBandsmovedtothesoutheastpartofMissouriinanattempttoescapethe
3violenceandturmoiloftheRevolutionaryWar;and

5 WHEREAS,thetribespreadthroughoutMissouri,beforetheTreatyof1817gavethe
6CherokeelandinMissouriwestoftheMississippiRiver,betweentheWhiteRiverandthe
7ArkansasRiver;and

9 WHEREAS,theCherokeeTrailofTearspassedthroughMissouri;and

11 WHEREAS,theCherokeeofArkansasandMissouriTribeisworthyofrecognition:

13 NOWTHEREFORE BEITRESOLVEDthatwe,themembersoftheMissouri
14HouseofRepresentatives,OneHundredThirdGeneralAssembly,FirstRegularSession,
15herebyofficiallyrecognizetheCherokeeofArkansasandMissouriTribe;and

17 BEITFURTHERRESOLVEDthattheChiefClerkoftheMissouriHouseof
18RepresentativesbeinstructedtoprepareaproperlyinscribedcopyofthisresolutionforCarol
19J.Grace,theActingPrincipalChiefoftheCherokeeofArkansasandMissouriTribe.
