88 To amend chapter 571, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to the offense of

1111 Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Missouri, as follows:
1212 Section A. Chapter 571, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto 1
1313 one new section, to be known as section 571.075, to read as 2
1414 follows:3
1515 571.075. 1. As used in this section, the following 1
1616 terms mean: 2
1717 (1) "Handgun", a firearm that has a short stock and is 3
1818 designed to be held and fired by the use of a single hand; 4
1919 (2) "Juvenile detention facility", the same meaning as 5
2020 defined under section 211.151; 6
2121 (3) "Minor", a person who is under eighteen years of 7
2222 age or, if a member of the United States Armed Forc es, under 8
2323 eighteen years of age. 9
2424 2. A person commits the offense of unlawful possession 10
2525 of a handgun if the person is a minor and knowingly 11
2626 possesses a handgun. 12
2727 3. The offense of unlawful possession of a handgun is 13
2828 punishable by imposition of a fine not to exceed two hundred 14
2929 dollars, imprisonment in a juvenile detention facility for a 15
3030 period not to exceed ten days, or both. 16
