88 To amend chapter 42, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to Missouri veterans'

1111 Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Missouri, as follows:
1212 Section A. Chapter 42, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto 1
1313 one new section, to be known as section 42.137, to read as 2
1414 follows:3
1515 42.137. State employees in support care assistance 1
1616 positions for Missouri veterans' homes shall receive a wage 2
1717 in the amount of at least fifteen dollars per hour and no 3
1818 more than twenty-two dollars per hour for services performed 4
1919 for a Missouri veterans' home. Such wage shall be effective 5
2020 on January 1, 2026. Any state employee in a support care 6
2121 assistance position for Missouri veterans' homes that 7
2222 receives a wage in an amount greater than twenty-two dollars 8
2323 per hour before January 1, 2026, shall be entitled to that 9
2424 wage on and after January 1, 2026. The wage established by 10
2525 this section shall be adjusted annually on January 1, 2027, 11
2626 and on January first of successive years, by the same 12
2727 percentage as the increase or decrease in the general price 13
2828 level as measured by the Consumer Price Index for All Urban 14
2929 Consumers (CPI-U) or successor index as published by the 15
3030 United States Department of Labor or its successor agency, 16
3131 with the amount of the wage increase or decrease rounded to 17 SB 210 2
3232 the nearest five cents. Any change in the wage amount shall 18
3333 be calculated and published by the commission. 19
