88 To repeal section 173.1352, RSMo, and to enact in lieu thereof one new section relating to

1111 Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Missouri, as follows:
1212 Section A. Section 173.1352, RSMo, is repealed and one 1
1313 new section enacted in lieu thereof, to be known as section 2
1414 173.1352, to read as follows:3
1515 173.1352. 1. As used in this section, the following 1
1616 terms mean: 2
1717 (1) "Advanced placement examination", any examination 3
1818 administered through the College Board's Advanced Placement 4
1919 Program (AP); 5
2020 (2) "Institution", any in -state public community 6
2121 college, college, or university that offers postsecondary 7
2222 freshman-level courses; 8
2323 (3) "International baccalaureate examinat ion", any 9
2424 examination for assessment purposes administered through the 10
2525 International Baccalaureate Organization at the end of the 11
2626 International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme . 12
2727 2. (1) Each institution shall adopt and implement a 13
2828 policy to grant undergraduate course credit to entering 14
2929 freshman students for each advanced placement examination 15
3030 upon which such student achieves a score of three or higher , 16
3131 or each international baccalaureate examination for an 17
3232 international baccalaureate diploma pr ogramme course upon 18 SB 243 2
3333 which such student achieves a score of 4 or higher, for any 19
3434 similarly correlated course offered by the institution at 20
3535 the time of such student's acceptance into the institution. 21
3636 (2) In the policy, the institution shall: 22
3737 (a) Establish the institution's conditions for 23
3838 granting course credit; and 24
3939 (b) Identify the specific course credit or other 25
4040 academic requirements of the institution, including the 26
4141 number of semester credit hours or other course credit, that 27
4242 the institution will grant to a student who achieves 28
4343 required scores on advanced placement examinations or 29
4444 international baccalaureate examinations . 30
4545 3. On request of an applicant for admission as an 31
4646 entering freshman, and based on information provided b y the 32
4747 applicant, an institution shall determine and notify the 33
4848 applicant regarding: 34
4949 (1) The amount and type of any course credit that 35
5050 would be granted to the applicant under the policy; and 36
5151 (2) Any other academic requirement that the applica nt 37
5252 would satisfy under the policy. 38
5353
