11 | 11 | Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Missouri, as follows: | |
12 | 12 | Section A. Section 478.690, RSMo, is repealed and one new 1 | |
13 | 13 | section enacted in lieu thereof, to be known as section 478.690, 2 | |
14 | 14 | to read as follows:3 | |
15 | 15 | 478.690. 1. There shall be two circuit judges in the 1 | |
16 | 16 | twenty-fourth judicial circuit consisting of the counties of 2 | |
17 | 17 | Madison, St. Francois, Ste. Genevieve and Washington. These 3 | |
18 | 18 | judges shall sit in divisions numbered one and two. 4 | |
19 | 19 | 2. The circuit judges in divisions one and two shall 5 | |
20 | 20 | be elected in 1982. 6 | |
21 | 21 | 3. There shall be one additional associate circuit 7 | |
22 | 22 | judge in St. Francois County. The associate circuit judge 8 | |
23 | 23 | shall be appointed by the governor and shall serve until 9 | |
24 | 24 | January 1, 2027, and until his or her successor is duly 10 | |
25 | 25 | elected in 2026. This associate circuit judge shall not be 11 | |
26 | 26 | included in the stat utory formula for authorizing additional 12 | |
