AN ACT 
To repeal section 563.016, RSMo, and to enact in lieu thereof one new section relating to 
abolishing civil actions when self-defense is justified. 
 
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Missouri, as follows: 
     Section A.  Section 563.016, RSMo, is repealed and one new 1 
section enacted in lieu thereof, to be known as section 563.016, 2 
to read as follows:3 
    563.016.  [The fact that conduct is justified under  1 
this chapter does not abolish or impair any remedy for such  2 
conduct which is available in any civil actions.] 1.  This  3 
section shall be known and may be cited as the "Keep Your 4 
Ground Act". 5 
     2.  No individual shall be held civilly liable for 6 
damages resulting from conduct found to be justified under 7 
this chapter. 8 

