| 13 | 13 | | Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Missouri, as follows: |

| 14 | 14 | | Section A. Section 230.205, RSMo, is repealed and one new 1 |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | section enacted in lieu thereof, to be known as section 230.205, 2 |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | to read as follows:3 |

| 17 | 17 | | 230.205. 1. The alternative county highway commission 1 |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | provided by sections 230.200 to 230.260 shall not become 2 |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | operative in any county unless adopted by a vote of the 3 |

| 20 | 20 | | majority of the voters of the county voting upon the 4 |

| 21 | 21 | | question at an election. All counties of this state which 5 |

| 22 | 22 | | have adopted the alternative county highway commission may 6 |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | abolish it [and return to the county highway commission 7 |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | provided for by sections 230.010 to 230.110 ] by submitting 8 |

| 25 | 25 | | the question to a vote of the voters of the county in the 9 |

| 26 | 26 | | manner provided by law or by a vote of the governing body . 10 |
