| 13 | 13 | | Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Missouri, as follows: |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Section A. Section 386.050, RSMo, is repealed and one new 1 |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | section enacted in lieu thereof, to be known as section 386.050, 2 |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | to read as follows:3 |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | 386.050. 1. The commission shall consist of [five] 1 |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | seven members who shall be appointed by the governor, with 2 |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | the advice and consent of the senate, provided that no more 3 |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | than one member shall be appointed from each congressional 4 |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | district, and one of whom shall be designated by the 5 |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | governor to be chair of the commission. At least two 6 |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | members shall be actively engaged in production 7 |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | agriculture. Each commissioner, at the time of the 8 |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | commissioner's appointment and qualification, shall be a 9 |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | resident of the state of Missouri, and shall have resided in 10 |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | the state for a period of at least five years next preceding 11 |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | the appointment and qualification, and shall also be a 12 |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | qualified voter therein and not less than twenty -five years 13 |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | of age. Upon the expiration of each of the terms of office 14 |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | of the first commissioners, the term of office of each 15 |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | commissioner thereafter appointed shall be six years from 16 |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | the time of the commissioner's appointment and qualification 17 |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | and until his successor shall qualify. Vacancies in the 18 SB 9 2 |

| 35 | 35 | | commission shall be filled by the governor for the unexpired 19 |

| 37 | 37 | | 2. As used in this section, "production agriculture" 21 |

| 38 | 38 | | means using or cultivating land for the production of any, 22 |
|---|
| 39 | 39 | | any combination, or all of the following for com mercial 23 |

| 41 | 41 | | (1) Agricultural crops; 25 |

| 42 | 42 | | (2) Livestock or livestock products; 26 |
|---|
| 43 | 43 | | (3) Poultry or poultry products; 27 |

| 44 | 44 | | (4) Milk or dairy products; 28 |
|---|
| 45 | 45 | | (5) Fruit or other horticultural products; or 29 |
|---|
