| 13 | 13 | | goal of reestablishing its legally recognized lands as a |

| 15 | 15 | | Whereas, Missouri's son, U. S. President Harry S. |

| 16 | 16 | | Truman, was the first world leader to officially recognize |

| 17 | 17 | | Israel as a legitimate Jewish state on May 14, 1948, only 11 |

| 18 | 18 | | minutes after its creation; and |

| 19 | 19 | | Whereas, Missouri agrees and supports U.S. President |

| 20 | 20 | | Donald Trump who, on December 6, 2017, recogniz ed Jerusalem |

| 21 | 21 | | as the eternal capital of Israel; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Whereas, the United States and Missouri have enjoyed a |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | close and mutually beneficial relationship with Israel and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | her people; and |

| 25 | 25 | | Whereas, Israel is a great friend and ally of the |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | United States in the Middle East: |

| 27 | 27 | | Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved that the members of the |

| 28 | 28 | | Missouri Senate, One Hundred and Third General Assembly, |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | First Regular Session, hereby commend Israel for its cordial |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | and mutually beneficial relationship with the Unite d States |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | and the state of Missouri since 1948 and that the |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | relationship continue to strengthen and be valued in this |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | state and in this country, in all its dimensions. |
