11 MISSISSIPPI LEGISLATURE 2025 Regular Session To: Appropriations A By: Representative Harness House Bill 1839 AN ACT MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CLAIBORNE COUNTY TO ASSIST IN PAYING COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH UPGRADES AND IMPROVEMENTS TO VARIOUS RECREATIONAL FACILITIES IN THE COUNTY FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2026. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI: SECTION 1. The following sum, or so much of it as may be necessary, is appropriated out of any money in the State General Fund not otherwise appropriated, to the Board of Supervisors of Claiborne County, Mississippi, to assist in paying costs associated with the purposes described in Section 2 of this act for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2025, and ending June 30, 2026..................... $1,710,000.00 SECTION 2. The money appropriated by Section 1 of this act shall be used by the county as follows: (a) Constructing a new indoor pool and making renovations to existing public pools at parks and recreation facilities of the county.................................................... $500,000.00 (b) Making restroom renovations at ball fields, fairgrounds and parks, and constructing a new restroom facility at Pattison Recreation Park...................................... $700,000.00 (c) Constructing a covered pavilion at Pattison Recreation Park................................................ $310,000.00 (d) Making upgrades to Cannon Ainsworth Park, including a basketball court and a pickleball court............... $200,000.00 TOTAL............................................. $1,710,000.00 SECTION 3. The money appropriated by this act shall be paid by the State Treasurer out of any money in the State General Fund not otherwise appropriated, upon warrants issued by the State Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his or her warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, officer or officers in the manner provided by law. SECTION 4. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2025.
