11 MISSISSIPPI LEGISLATURE 2025 Regular Session To: Local and Private Legislation By: Representative Clark House Bill 1966 AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF HOLMES COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, TO DESIGNATE A MEMBER OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS TO OVERSEE THE DAY-TO-DAY OPERATIONS OF THE HOLMES COUNTY SOLID WASTE DEPARTMENT; TO PROVIDE THAT SUCH DESIGNATED BOARD MEMBER SHALL RECEIVE CERTAIN COMPENSATION FOR HIS OR HER ROLE OF OVERSEEING THE OPERATIONS OF THE SOLID WASTE DEPARTMENT; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI: SECTION 1. The Board of Supervisors of Holmes County, Mississippi, is authorized and empowered, in its discretion, to designate one member of the board of supervisors to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Holmes County Solid Waste Department, and such designated member shall receive compensation in an amount not to exceed Twenty-four Thousand Dollars ($24,000.00) per year for such duties. Such designation by the board of supervisors shall be made on an annual basis, and the board shall have the discretion to appoint or not appoint a board member for such duties as it deems appropriate. SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
