MISSISSIPPI LEGISLATURE 2025 Regular Session To: Rules By: Representatives Horan, Oliver House Resolution 119 (As Adopted by House) A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE KIRK ACADEMY FOOTBALL TEAM AND HEAD COACH COLIN BOONE FOR WINNING THE 2024 MIDSOUTH ASSOCIATION OF INDEPENDENT SCHOOLS (MAIS) CLASS 3A STATE FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP. WHEREAS, the Kirk Academy Raiders Football Team reigned supreme to claim the 2024 Midsouth Association of Independent Schools (MAIS) Class 3A State Championship; and WHEREAS, during each game in their rise to the top, the Raiders' mental stamina and determination never waivered from the moment they ran onto the field until the last down was played, and they intensely amplified all of their hard work and motivation, which were so apparent throughout the entire season, for the championship game; and WHEREAS, the Raiders are comprised of the following talented athletes: Noah Jackson, Devon Hennis, Anthony Carollo, Holt Gober, Braiden McElewrath, Linton Carson, Christian Rosales, Gage Vance, Hayes Horan, Aiden Noah, Phillip Messina, Blake Mattox, Jace West, Maverick Fowler, Ryder Kendall, Landon Rice, Jett Lewis, Caymen Gregg, Jack Redwine, Clayton Duke, Andy Redwine, Jay Havens, Tate Summers, Conner Timbs, Triston Dubard, Hayden Baker, Kam Andrus, Case Kimbrough, Noah Abel, Brayden Murphy, Riley Reed, Jaxon Haley, Rowdy Staten and Jacob Zeitz; and WHEREAS, several Raiders team members excelled at their positions and were deservedly rewarded, including Noah Jackson, who was named the All MAIS 3A Player of the Year; Anthony Carollo, Holt Gober, Triston Dubard, Noah Jackson, Blake Mattox, Riley Reed and Devon Hennis, who were named MAIS 3A-4A All Stars; Riley Reed and Triston Dubard, who were named 3A Football All MAIS Offensive Line; Anthony Carollo, who was named the 3A Football All MAIS Wide Receiver; Holt Gober, who was named the 3A Football All MAIS Offensive All Purpose; Blake Mattox, who was named the 3A Football All MAIS Tight End; and Devon Hennis, who was named the 3A Football All MAIS Defensive Back; and WHEREAS, Head Coach Colin Boone and Assistant Coaches Chad Crowe, Zach Whitfield, Culley Griffin, Robert Carollo and Arnie Oakes have superbly coached and inspired the Raiders and broadened their knowledge of the game while refining their skills in execution, and they continue to build upon the legacy of superior play and true sportsmanship forged by the tenacious and undaunted spirit of each team member; and WHEREAS, the coaching staff also received prestigious awards for their efforts, including MAIS 3A Coach of the Year, which was awarded to Head Coach Colin Boone, and the Northeast Mississippi Football Coaches Association (NEMFCA) 3A Coaching Staff of the Year, which was awarded to Assistant Coaches Chad Crowe, Zach Whitfield, Colin Boone, Arnie Oakes, Culley Griffin and Robert Carollo; and WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to recognize and honor the achievements of student-athletes such as the Kirk Academy Raiders Football Team, who have brought honor to their school, their community and to the State of Mississippi: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate the Kirk Academy Football Team and Head Coach Colin Boone for winning the 2024 Midsouth Association of Independent Schools (MAIS) Class 3A State Football Championship, and extend best wishes for continued success in all their future endeavors.
