                            MISSISSIPPI LEGISLATURE 2025 Regular Session To: Forestry; Judiciary, Division A By: Senator(s) McCaughn Senate Bill 2765 AN ACT TO PROHIBIT ANY ENTITY WHICH RECEIVES A TAX INCENTIVE, TAX CREDIT, TAX EXEMPTION OR PUBLIC FUNDS FROM THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI OR ANY POLITICAL SUBDIVISION THEREOF FROM REQUIRING A LANDOWNER TO REFOREST LAND AS A CONDITION OF A CONTRACT TO PURCHASE, SEVER OR PRODUCE A LANDOWNER'S TIMBER; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.      BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:      SECTION 1.  For contracts executed or renewal from and after July 1, 2025, no entity which receives a tax incentive, tax credit, tax exemption or public funds from the State of Mississippi or any political subdivision thereof shall require a landowner to reforest land as a condition of a contract to purchase, sever or produce a landowner's timber.      SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2025.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  For contracts executed or renewal from and after July 1, 2025, no entity which receives a tax incentive, tax credit, tax exemption or public funds from the State of Mississippi or any political subdivision thereof shall require a landowner to reforest land as a condition of a contract to purchase, sever or produce a landowner's timber.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2025.
