11 MISSISSIPPI LEGISLATURE 2025 Regular Session To: Judiciary, Division B By: Senator(s) Hickman Senate Bill 3282 AN ACT TO RESTORE THE RIGHT OF SUFFRAGE TO BRITTANY MARIE HOLIFIELD OF SCOTT COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI: SECTION 1. The right of suffrage is hereby fully and completely restored to Brittany Marie Holifield of Scott County, Mississippi, who was disqualified as an elector as a result of her conviction for the crime of conspiracy to commit armed robbery in 2015 in Scott County, Mississippi. She was sentenced, on January 9, 2017, to serve fifteen (15) years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections with thirteen (13) years and six (6) months suspended. On January 9, 2017, she was sentenced to the full term for her 2015 conviction of conspiracy due to her escape from jail. On February 6, 2017, she was sentenced to two (2) years to serve in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections for the crime of escape. On January 7, 2021, she was released due to parole. She has represented successfully completing all terms and conditions of her sentence. The Legislature is informed that she has since conducted herself as a law-abiding and honorable citizen in a good and lawful manner. SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2025.
