1 | | - | MISSISSIPPI LEGISLATURE 2025 Regular Session To: Rules By: Senator(s) Whaley, Chism Senate Resolution 102 (As Adopted by Senate) A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE INGOMAR HIGH SCHOOL LADY FALCONS GIRLS BASKETBALL TEAM AND HEAD COACH TRENT ADAIR FOR THEIR THIRD STRAIGHT CLASS 2A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP AND FOURTH IN THE LAST FIVE YEARS. WHEREAS, the Ingomar High School Girls Basketball dynasty continues. The Lady Falcons claimed the MHSAA Class 2A State Championship 58-28 over East Union on March 1, 2025, at the Mississippi Coliseum. It was Ingomar's third straight State Championship, their fourth in the last five years and their 14th Overall Title; and WHEREAS, Cadie Jo Byrd led the Lady Falcons (32-2) with 24 points and was named MVP of the game, and Middle Tennessee signee and MHSAA 2A Mississippi winner Macie Phifer recorded 17 points and 11 rebounds; and WHEREAS, the 2024-2025 Ingomar High School Lady Falcons Girls Basketball Team Roster: Issie Riddle, Daylen Grisham, Tyrani Jones, Rivers Ashley, Kaitlyn Turner, Rebecca Ball, Macie Phifer, Ella Hart Wilbanks, Bella Phifer, Makynlee Dillard, Cadie Jo Byrd, Mallory Mathews, Baylee Glasso, Peyton Wray and Marissa Bell; Head Coach Trent Adair; and Assistant Coach Katherine Downing; and WHEREAS, it is with great pride that we recognize these student athletes who have again brought honor to their team, their school, their community and to the State of Mississippi: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate the Ingomar High School Lady Falcons Girls Basketball Team and Head Coach Trent Adair for their third straight Class 2A State Championship and fourth in the last five years, and extend to the team, coaches, parents and sponsors our best wishes for future championships. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be presented to Head Coach Trent Adair for the team, forwarded to Ingomar Principal Roben Denton and the Union County Board of Education, and made available to the Capitol Press Corps. |
