                            MISSISSIPPI LEGISLATURE 2025 Regular Session To: Rules By: Senator(s) Whaley, Chism Senate Resolution 121 (As Adopted by Senate) A RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING MYRTLE ATTENDANCE CENTER SENIOR SECOND BASEMAN EMMA MAYER AS THE MHSAA 1A 2024 MISS SOFTBALL RECIPIENT.      WHEREAS, Myrtle Attendance Center Senior Standout Second Baseman Emma Mayer has been voted MHSAA Class 1A Miss Softball for the 2024 season; and      WHEREAS, Emma has put up big offensive numbers in the 2024 season.  In the third round of playoffs, she was hitting .492 with a .598 on-base percentage, with 32 hits, 11 for extra bases, 11 homeruns and 43 RBI's and 44 runs scored for the season; and      WHEREAS, Miss Softball winners are selected by a statewide panel of coaches and media members.  The honorees are recognized during the State Championships in Hattiesburg; and      WHEREAS, Mayer, a Northwest Mississippi Community College signee, helped lead the Myrtle Hawks to a 21-5 record in the 2024 season and into the third round of the MHSAA Class 1A Playoffs; and      WHEREAS, it is with great pride that we commend this student athlete who has brought honor to her team, her school, her community and to the State of Mississippi:      NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby recognize Myrtle Attendance Center Senior Second Baseman Emma Mayer as the MHSAA 1A 2024 Miss Softball recipient and extend to Emma Mayer and her family our best wishes for continued success.      BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be presented to Emma Mayer, forwarded to Myrtle Attendance Center Principal Justin Hollis and the Union County School Board and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
