                            MISSISSIPPI LEGISLATURE 2025 Regular Session To: Rules By: Senator(s) Rhodes, Kirby, Harkins, McCaughn Senate Resolution 137 (As Adopted by Senate) A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE 2024 EAST RANKIN ACADEMY (ERA) LADY PATRIOTS GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY TEAM AND COACH DAVID HOPPER FOR WINNING THEIR FOURTH CONSECUTIVE MAIS 5A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP.      WHEREAS, the East Rankin Academy Lady Patriots led by Coach David Hopper concluded their 2024 Regular Season as MAIS Class 5A State Champions for the fourth consecutive year.  The Lady Patriots entered the season as the No. 1 ranked team in the state and defended their MAIS 5A title; and      WHEREAS, the 2024 East Rankin Academy Team concluded the season with the varsity Lady Patriots ranked 1st in the MAIS 5A and 1st in the MAIS Overall; and      WHEREAS, the 2024 ERA Lady Patriots roster is:  Jensen Baker, Jewel Baker, Kate Bryant, Ava Ogden, Leah Collipp, Lydia Collipp, Breland Moulds, Caroline Fountain, Arin Hawk, Audrey Hawk, Haley Headrick, Kylee Holifield, Chandler Hunt, Rachel Smith, Addison Vowell, Audrey Mayatte, Paige Mayatte, Emily Williams, Abby Raines, Emma Raines, Marlee Rakinic, Lesley Scarberry and Katie Simpson; and Coach David Hopper; and      WHEREAS, it is with great pride that we recognize these student athletes who have brought honor to their team, their school, their community and to the State of Mississippi:      NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate the 2024 East Rankin Academy (ERA) Lady Patriots Girls Cross Country Team and Coach David Hopper for winning their fourth consecutive MAIS 5A State Championship, and extend our best wishes to the team, coaches, parents and sponsors for future success.      BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be presented to Coach David Hopper for the team, forwarded to East Rankin Academy Head of School Robyn Winstead and the East Rankin Academy Board of Directors, and be made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
