1-MISSISSIPPI LEGISLATURE 2025 Regular Session To: Rules By: Senator(s) Barnett Senate Resolution 42 (As Adopted by Senate) A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE STRINGER ATTENDANCE CENTER RED DEVILS GIRLS VOLLEYBALL TEAM AND HEAD COACH JODY ROWELL FOR WINNING THEIR FIRST 1A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP IN SCHOOL HISTORY AND FOR THEIR OUTSTANDING 2024-2025 SEASON. WHEREAS, we join the students, parents and citizens of West Jasper County in recognizing the Stringer Attendance Center Red Devils Girls Volleyball Team and the school administration for winning their first 1A State Championship in school history; and WHEREAS, the Red Devils accomplished the following landmark goals in the 2024-2025 season: Record: 25-6; Division 7-1A Champs; 1A South State Champs (1st in school history); 1A State Champs (1st in school history); Two players committed to play college volleyball (Rylei Pickerell and Natalie Aplin, both committed to East Central Community College) (1st in school history); Four 1A All-State Players (Madilyn Graham, Natalie Aplin, Rylei Pickerell, Kayleigh Douglas); 1A State Championship Game Scholar Athlete Award (Kayleigh Douglas); 1A State Championship MVP (Madilyn Graham); State Championship Game performances: Rylei Pickerell had 18 digs, Riley King had 11 digs and 8 aces, Natlie Aplin had 9 Digs and 7 kills, Kayleigh Douglas had 6 kills, 6 aces and 8 digs, Madilyn Graham had 13 kills and 4 aces; and WHEREAS, the Stringer Attendance Center Red Devils Girls Volleyball Team Roster: Heather Rowell, Lilly Sylvester, Avagrace Jefcoat, Hannah Grace Buckley, Semaj Bridges, Riley King, Laken Bradley, Kayleigh Douglas, Rylei Pickerell, Addison Stringer, Jaicee Brady, Madilyn Graham, Presley Arender, Preslee Cook and Natalie Aplin; Head Coach Jody Rowell; and Assistant Coach Ken Carter; and WHEREAS, it is with great pride that we recognize this group of student athletes who have brought honor to their school, their community and to the State of Mississippi: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate the Stringer Attendance Center Red Devils Girls Volleyball Team and Head Coach Jody Rowell for winning their first 1A State Championship in school history and for their outstanding 2024-2025 season; and extend to the team, coaches, administration, parents and sponsors our best wishes for continued success. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be presented to Head Coach Jody Rowell, Athletic Director Dan Brady, forwarded to Principal Benton Holder and Tony Keyes and the West Jasper School District Board of Trustees, and made available to Capitol Press Corps.
