WHEREAS, the Mississippi Dental Association (MDA) was founded in 1875 with the mission of advancing the dental profession, promoting oral health, and ensuring the highest standards of dental care for the citizens of Mississippi; and WHEREAS, the MDA has grown from its humble beginnings to become a leading voice in the field of dentistry, representing the more than 1,000 dentists throughout the state and providing invaluable support and resources to its members; and WHEREAS, for the past 150 years, the MDA has been dedicated to improving public health by advocating for policies that enhance access to dental care, promoting dental education and research, and raising awareness about the importance of oral health; and WHEREAS, the MDA has played a crucial role in advancing the field of dentistry through its commitment to continuing education, professional development, and adherence to ethical standards, thereby ensuring that Mississippi's dental professionals are well-equipped to provide the highest quality care to their patients; and WHEREAS, the MDA's efforts have contributed to significant improvements in oral health outcomes across the state, including increased access to preventive care, better management of dental diseases, and improved overall health and well-being for Mississippians; and WHEREAS, the MDA's 150th Anniversary provides an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of the past, honor the contributions of its members, and look forward to a future of continued excellence in dental care and public health: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby recognize and commend the Mississippi Dental Association on the occasion of its 150th Anniversary and extend our heartfelt appreciation for its unwavering dedication to the advancement of dentistry and the promotion of oral health in our state. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be presented to the Mississippi Dental Association and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
